From a young age, I’ve found joy in creating, exploring textures, colours, and forms to bring unique ideas to life.
Tumbleweed Atelier is more than just a brand – it’s an expression of my passion for the quirky and unexpected. Creativity has been a constant companion, a way to find meaning, joy, and connection in life. Alongside my artistic journey, I also bring a background in mental health and suicide prevention, which inspires me to use creativity as a force for healing and hope.

Behind the name
The name Tumbleweed Atelier is rooted in cherished memories from my childhood. My older sister, Susi, lovingly nicknamed me “Weed,” inspired by Little Weed from Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men. I have vivid memories of her calling out, “Pop up, Little Weed!” whenever I needed encouragement or a playful nudge. The nickname stuck, and even today, she still calls me “Weed.” It’s a heartfelt reminder of those joyful, supportive moments that shaped me.
The tumbleweed also carries a special significance. It symbolises freedom, resilience, and adaptability – qualities I hold dear. When my husband and I moved to remote Queensland, its arid desert beauty seemed like the perfect place for a tumbleweed to thrive. That chapter of my life became a journey of embracing change, finding inspiration in the stark yet stunning landscape, and allowing life’s twists to guide me forward.
